A Q&A-Style Legal Workshop on The State of Cryptocurrency
Join us on April 21st, 2018 for a two -part event, hosted by the Harvard Blockchain Group and The Global Center for Investment Fund Studies (GCIFS), and organized by Capital Fund Law Group. The workshop will be a question-and-answer format in order to provide answers to frequently asked questions relating to navigating the current state of cryptocurrency hedge funds, Registration for the webinar will close one hour prior to the event.
This invitation-only event provides prospective fund managers information provided from various service providers, fund managers, and exchanges.

John Lore is the Managing Partner of Capital Fund Law Group. John has spent his legal career focused on advising emerging fund managers and has answered investment fund legal questions from over one-thousand emerging investment fund managers in nearly every state in the US and throughout the world. He has formed more cryptocurrency funds than nearly any attorney in the world.

Burke A. McDavid advises both established and emerging managers in organizing and operating private investment funds—both hedge funds and private equity funds—employing a variety of strategies, including emerging markets, distressed debt, energy, real estate and fund of funds. He also advises institutional and other investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds and assists clients (both sponsors and investors) with negotiating side-letter agreements.

Bushra Hamid | President / Co-Founder | Harvard Undergraduate Blockchain Group
Bushra Hamid is a successful cryptocurrency investor. She is the co-Founder and President of the Harvard Blockchain Group, the first blockchain organization at Harvard College, where she is an undergraduate student studying. Bushra oversees the activities and structuring of committees for over 300+ students who have expressed interest in the organization.
Busrha co-founded the National Muslim Women's Summit, an annual conference in collaboration with the Harvard Kennedy School, which is fully funded and endorsed by several organizations that invites young leaders to embark on a year-long leadership fellowship targeting their communities.
Bushra has been active in politics, as an advisory council member to Texas State Representative Ed Thompson, and Congressman Pete Olson. Bushra was featured in London-based radio podcast to discuss her story regarding the immigration ban and the election. She was asked by TIMES Higher Education to write her story regarding the immigration ban and election. (available here).
Ian Gobin | Partner | Harneys
Ian Gobin is a partner in Harneys’ Cayman office. Ian's practice has a dedicated focus on fund managers, their clients and their service providers. He advises on the legal and regulatory treatment of investment funds, private equity funds and management companies established in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. He also advises institutional and private clients throughout Europe and North America on funds matters.
Prior to joining Harneys, Ian was the global head of the investment funds teams at Appleby and prior to that Ian was a partner at Walkers. Before going offshore in 2001, Ian trained and qualified as a solicitor at Clifford Chance in London, working in the capital markets group.

Mr. Loughton joined Pulteney Street Capital Management, LLC as a Member in February 2013 after having spent the last twelve years with Praesideo Management, LLC. At Praesideo, Mr. Loughton was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and managing hedge fund investments within the Praesideo funds since 2000. Mr. Loughton began his career with IBM Corporation in the software group. Hai Tang is Managing Director at Andersen Tax, with extensive experience in federal and international tax consulting and compliance for alternative investment funds, and startup companies. Hai received a B.S. in physics from University of Science and Technology of China, a Ph. D in physics from University of Chicago, and a M.S. in taxation from Golden Gate University.
